About the Opportunity:

The Bouvé College of Health Sciences is seeking a Temporary HR Associate to join their team in the Office of the Dean. In this multifaceted role in the Dean’s Office, you will contribute to the success of the Bouvé College of Health Sciences by playing a key role in a variety of aspects of the Human Resources Operations. Please note: The primary work location for this position is the Boston MA Northeastern University Campus Location. Until our full return to campus, which is still to-be-determined, this interview process will be conducted remotely- including virtual interviews, remote onboarding and remote work. The remote nature of this position is subject to change in the future and is only temporary. Local, on-campus work will be required once the College and this role return to an operational status that supports it.

This is a temporary, non-benefits eligible appointment. This is a 30 hour per week appointment, subject to increase based on business need.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Faculty Affairs and Human Resources Administration, this position will have a primary focus on Faculty Affairs and Non-paid visiting appointments for the College. This position will work closely alongside other HR Associate in the Deans Office and be knowledgeable of all HR functions for the College and be able to provide support in other areas as necessary. This position will frequently interact with the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and provide support on the specific areas of tenure and promotion (utilizing the system, Interfolio), sabbaticals, parental teaching relief, and tenure clock extensions. He/She will be the primary contact for the college with regards to the Time Tracking system, ensuring all PTO banks are accurate and can run reports as necessary. This position will answer questions from managers and employees regarding time tracking to ensure 100% compliance. He/She is responsible for coordinating 100% compliance with the I-9 process for the College (Fragomen Del Ray). This position will be completely crossed trained with the other HR Associate in the Deans Office and serve as a back-up as necessary for all grant-funded appointments and Part-time Faculty processing.


Associates Degree required; Bachelors preferred. A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in human resources preferred. Experience working in human resources in a higher education environment preferred. Candidate must also be able to work accurately and effectively with salary data and confidential information; demonstrate skills in teamwork and collaboration; have a high level of proficiency in MS Office applications [Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word]. Experience using Banner-HR preferred. The ability to learn new technology and systems quickly and apply them to daily tasks is key. The ability to think independently and work autonomously, utilize organizational skills and coordinate information across departments necessitates that this person has a demonstrated aptitude for clear communication, good judgment and decision making. Candidate must demonstrate a high level of agility and a strong ability to lead teams towards meeting goals in a large organization.
