UAF eCampus is hiring a student Systems Delivery Specialist to assist the delivery of online MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) on edX and the maintenance of our web platforms. We are looking for someone who has a high standard of excellence and enjoys exploring new technology.


What is eCampus?

UAF eCampus supports online courses offered at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, including course design support for faculty and learner support for students. eCampus also supports Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) offered free to learners across the world.

What should you expect from this position

You will be joining a passionate team dedicated to improving the student experience. You will help maintain course sites and platforms to proper working condition and assure that student concerns are monitored and addressed.

Work will be semi-independent and remote work options are available.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is methodical, detail oriented, and has high standards of quality. The right candidate is highly comfortable with learning new software and isn’t afraid to break things, knows how to Google for solutions to digital problems, and is self-directed in planning and completing tasks.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Assist eCampus instructional designers and course teams in monitoring quality delivery of online courses and web services. Consistent moderation of course discussion forums and student issues on UAF’s edX partnership, AlaskaX. Beta testing of edX course designs Audit WordPress plugins and themes on and Audit WordPress sites on and Regular testing of websites. Research and test Open Educational Resources (OER).

Advertised Salary:

This is a Student Assistant C position; starting pay is $13.00 per hour, up to 20 hours per week.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Basic computer skills including computer applications and web-based software.
