Overview
iHeartMedia is the #1 Audio company in the US. We are seeking several Producers to create, direct and produce our sports reports part-time for multiple stations and regions during the AM drive.
Responsibilities:
• Plans, writes, researches and edits content for anchors
• Finalizes content using digital audio editing software
• Maintains crucial deadlines to provide sports stories in a timely fashion
• Repackages content for sportscasts
• May prepare written content for social media platforms and wire service
• Researches information, obtains materials and assists with contacting and scheduling guests
• Gives direction to presenters, content providers, assistants and other crew members
• Manages budgets and ensures the efficient use of resources
• Obtains permissions or licenses for recording or broadcasting on location, and for the use of music, sound effects and audio archive material
• May work the board for pre-recorded or live shows
Qualifications:
• Extensive background in sports, must have regional knowledge of teams, conferences, leagues and other related items in the world of sports
• Knowledgeable and up-to-date with local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of subjects/events related to on-air topics
• Must be able to function in a fast paced news environment, assisting voice talent in delivering multiple newscasts for several markets each hour
• Excellent writing and editing skills; proficient in grammar
• Ability to plan and organize, set priorities and multi task in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in media production and broadcast systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms
Work Experience:
• 3+ years’ experience as Radio Producer and/or Assistant in a smaller market or college station
Education:
• 4-year college degree, preferably in Radio or Media Production
