Social Media Savvy Community Manager (Remote)

SureStart is searching for a Social Media Savvy Community Manager to take the lead in setting social media strategy for the organization, building an online community and increasing brand awareness through social media platforms.

This is a part-time remote position (20 hours/week). Pay hourly, commensurate with experience.

Job Description:

  • Create a GenZ community across social media platforms, prioritizing Tiktok and Instagram and other relevant platforms.
  • Create and manage SureStart’s social media presence
    • Create inspirational, informational, promotional and event-related posts for all platforms.
    • Proactively engage daily with followers.
    • Proactively engage with other organizations that are either collaborators, competitors, and/or in the same social impact, edtech space.
    • Identify SureStart’s key hashtags to engage and connect with audiences. Look for trending hashtags to engage and expand community.

  • SureStart Spotlight Series:
    • Help schedule, coordinate and support running of virtual events with a focus on the SureStart Spotlight Series, where the goal is to
      • a) highlight diverse young talented SureStart trainees – past and present; and
      • b) share stories of how mentors have positively affected industry leaders.
  • Help manage the CEO’s social media on LinkedIn (primary) and Twitter:
    • Assist in writing blog posts for social media and/or website.
    • Assist in creating periodic newsletter to be sent to students or business contacts.
  • Respond to all incoming inquiries for social media for both accounts. Address comments, questions and messages.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience determining a target audience and understanding how to cater unique social campaigns to capture their attention, in order to develop a following,
  • Proven excellent in social media communication through writing and other creative approaches.
  • Clearly exemplifies the building of purposeful connections relevant for a brand.
  • Efficient and top-notch organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, while also functioning and contributing as a member of a team.
  • Must be familiar with analyzing the engagement metrics to evaluate social strategy.
  • A willingness to understand, incorporate, follow and illustrate the company’s brand.
  • Self starter with experience building projects/initiatives from beginning to end.
  • Team player with a positive attitude!
  • Must be able to work on East Coast Times.***
