Full Job Description

Roundtrip is looking for a Research Intern to help further our research initiatives centered on transportation as a part of a broader movement to address the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH). Currently, Roundtrip is engaged in a groundbreaking study through federal funding from the National Institute on Drug Abuse to study the relationship of transportation to health outcomes for populations affected by Opioid Use Disorder in conjunction with the University of Pennsylvania. This is a Part-time (roughly 10 – 15 hours/week depending on candidate availability) paid internship that will begin early January and end sometime during the 2nd quarter roughly of 2021. As an intern, you’ll contribute to novel healthcare research and provide valuable data-driven insights to evaluate the impact on patient populations. The ideal candidate should be comfortable designing and executing research projects and have previous experience working with grant-related initiatives. We are looking for a self-starter with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders within the Roundtrip Growth team and external stakeholders that include our reputed academic and healthcare partners
  • Actively contribute to research study design and execution to optimize for drawing clear correlations to outcomes
  • Manage day-to-day research operations including patient enrollments, monitoring data trends, and obtaining feedback from study sites
  • Leverage current SDOH literature and Roundtrip’s data to apply for additional grant-funded projects
  • Identify areas of strengths and areas of opportunity for Roundtrip’s research initiatives to develop future vision & strategy

Who You Are:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Technology, STEM, or related fields
  • 1+ years of experience in academic research, state/federal grant applications, and human subject studies
  • Proficiency with Excel and/or other reporting software (e.g. Power BI, Looker, etc)
  • Experience prioritizing multiple tasks concurrently based on larger goals
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable presenting with all levels of the organization
  • Strong time management, interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment
  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry and/or transportation industry a plus
