Overview

The Part-Time Student Success Coach serves as a mentor to the high school students participating in the program.

Duties & Responsibilities

– Recruits students to participate in the grant program

– Works with school official to identify and enroll students on targeted schools

– Meets with grant participants a minimum of two times per month in one-on-one sessions designed to increase motivation, achievement and academic success

– Identifies resources for grant participants

– Assists the Activities Coordinator in the planning and execution of grant activitiess

– Assists the Activities Coordinator with the coordination of presentations for campus visits

– Assists the Activities Coordinator with the maintenance of records for all grant participants, including permission forms, test scores, demographic information, individual case management notes, and attendance at grant activities

– Provides the Activities Coordinator with the information necessary for reports

– Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

– Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education or related field and three (3) years of related experience

– Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures

– Knowledge and proficiency in computers, especially Microsoft Office applications

– Possess strong oral and written communication skills

– Ability to meet deadlines and with attention to detail

– Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments

– Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
