    QualificationsSpecialized Experience Requirements:
    In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that the applicant meets the specialized experience requirement – this information must be clearly supported in the resume.

    GS-06: To qualify at the GS-06 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 in Federal service. Specialized experience at this level is defined as experience with a Work Order system or database and experience with a variety of software or databases.

    GS-07: To qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 in Federal service. Specialized experience at this level is defined as everything at the GS-06 level plus building work plans for work orders, making a variety of purchases; reconciling credit card statements; and monitoring project deadlines.

    GS-08: To qualify at the GS-08 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 in Federal service. Specialized experience at this level is defined as everything at the GS-07 level plus developing and analyzing information which assists in management decisions on maintenance completed at each facility; and preparing and analyzing information such as: historical maintenance records, craft backlogs, maintenance downtime reports to provide management with data for decisions related to availability and reliability of equipment.


    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
