Overview of the Malden Public Schools:
The Malden Public Schools (MPS) is a richly diverse school district located within the Greater Boston area and accessible by the MBTA orange line train. Malden’s student body comprises approximately 6,800 students who represent 59 different countries and speak 67 different languages. We have 1 early learning center, 5 K-8 schools, and 1 high school. Remote Learning Support Positions
The remote learning support positions will support students who demonstrate need for additional academic assistance as determined by school/district assessments and related data. Remote Learning Support Specialists will target students in Grades K-8. RL Support Specialists will work closely with classroom teachers and building administration to identify students in need of academic support, particularly in the areas of literacy and math. They will work with the teacher to develop plans to support assigned students during the school day and implement the plans in coordination with classroom teachers. The staff member may be asked to work remotely or in-person, depending on assignment.
Positions are grant funded and will run through the end of the 2020-2021 academic year.
Remote Learning Support Specialists work up to 19 hours per week and report to the building principal.
Rate of pay is $26/hour.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education
Familiarity with Google Classroom and Google Meets
Strong communication and organizational skills
Experience working with students in K-8
Experience in urban schools
