Full Job Description

Health Quality Innovators (HQI) is a health quality consulting company that serves as the Medicare Quality Innovation Network – Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) for Virginia, Kansas, Missouri and South Carolina. Since 1984, we have been leading the way to better healthcare by working with providers, patients and partners to improve health quality across the region. Through the PTN, we help independent practices to maximize efficiencies, manage population health and improve care coordination. HQI has helped improve patient care and safety for thousands of people over the years.

We are currently seeking a graduate level Health Policy Intern (Paid) to join our Team. This position identifies, reviews, records, synthesizes and summarizes health care policies and regulations related to COVID-19 and infection prevention in nursing homes. Produces related informational resources for health care providers and government officials. Provides additional support to the National Nursing Home COVID-19 Coordinating Center as directed. This is a part-time (10-20 hours per week) remote employment opportunity.

. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required. Current enrollment in good standing in an accredited graduate program in health care administration, public health, public policy, law or a related field.

Excellent research skills, including the ability to assess the validity and potential biases of sources and the relative weight that should be given to different types of research and analysis. Experience working with policy papers, laws and regulations is a plus.
