CodeNow is a non-profit focused on empowering underrepresented high school students through computer programming This is essential because it lowers the barriers normally associated with technology by opening the door at an early age when youth are just beginning to explore their options and opportunities. Trainings are held on weekends and over the summer at local tech companies. The organization is based in New York City with trainings in DC in and the Bay Area. CodeNow has been featured in TechCrunch,VentureBeat and The White House Blog, among other publications.
Working collaboratively with the CEO the Grant Writer will craft proposals for new initiatives and programs related to CodeNow’s mission of empowering underrepresented youth through teaching them to code. Candidates should have in depth experience in foundation and corporate grant writing. Experience in government grant writing is a plus. Candidates should have the ability to write promotional and other fundraising materials, as needed. The ability to research potential funders is essential.
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in grant writing, a successful track record of securing grants and a passion for the organization’s mission.
This is a part time position. 10 hours per week,This position will be able to work virtually if ideal candidate is not located in NYC Area.
