ESSENCE is looking for someone who’s a whiz at creating short-form content. You know the difference between an Instagram Story and Snapchat opportunity and have the creative skills to execute both flawlessly. You can personally create social images, Vine-type videos and other short-form pieces that get people talking. When it comes to new opportunities like Facebook Live, you’re the first to jump on and master the tool. Ultimately, you’re a content creator with a track record of growing followers, engaging and retaining them, and helping convert them into active customers and website visitors. An uncurated Instagram feed is a non-starter!
You should have command of best practices and trends across both established and emerging social platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Vine, and Periscope. You should be both creative and analytical, with an ability to engage people as well as to understand and manage to our business metrics goals.
– Execute the brand’s presence across social media, with an emphasis on Snapchat, Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook Live.
– Grow the brand’s social media followers and referrals to our website.
– Create and optimize short-form and still content for use across social media channels.
– In tandem with Social Media Director, brainstorm and execute innovative new social strategies, test new platforms, and expand social monetization opportunities.
Experienced: 2+ years of professional experience in social media.
Skilled: Master of visual communication with excellent writing skills and editorial judgment.
Creative: Skilled at Adobe Creative Suite.
Social: Excellent interpersonal skills.
A Leader: Able to effectively teach and guide others.
