Full Job Description

This position will provide administrative support to The Office of Academic Advising and Student Success. The primary responsibility of this position is to directly manage the front desk operations of the office. This includes welcoming and receiving students using the check in process, problem solving student issues and concerns, properly directing students to appropriate resources on campus and providing the highest level of customer service. The position is responsible for hiring, training, and providing leadership for student employees. Other responsibilities include leveraging technology to compile statistical data, providing support for part time Academic Advisors as it relates to their semester contacts and payroll, and processing of college documents that support an efficient department.

Qualifications:o 2 years of experience working in a fast-paced environment interacting witho customerso Some college course work, associate degree a pluso Demonstrated customer service experienceo Demonstrated understanding of Henry Ford Collegeo Demonstrated ability to be a team playero Experienced in a student information system, Microsoft Office 365, scheduling softwareo Proficient in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publishero Strong written and oral communication skillso Ability to communicate with the general public in an effective, pleasant and professionalo manner at all timeso Ability to resolve conflicts, issues and complaints in an efficient and calm mannero Ability to work weekends and evenings following advanced notificationo Reliable and dependableo Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Family Education Rights to Privacyo Act (FERPA)Note: This position is a remote position until further notice. Candidate must have the necessary technology for remote work.

Essential Dutieso Actively participate in face to face interactions with students by leading a team of student employees to provide high level customer service. Hire, supervise, and train student employees.
o Develop and maintain a Work Study Student Training manual. Ensure that new hires have the technology available to effectively complete their duties by securing permissions through the appropriate channels.
o Prepare and process Personnel Action Forms (PAF) for part time Academic Advisors each semester, enter semester contracts into the payroll system (HANK) to ensure timely and accurate compensation of part time Academic Advisors.
o Maintain a department absence calendar to ensure accuracy of timecard approvals by the manager.
o Prepare and process PAF paperwork for part time Advisors for extra contractual work as necessary throughout the semester.
o Use SARS Anywhere to generate monthly reports for the purpose of sharing statistical data with the Vice President, the Cabinet, the President and the Board of Trustees.
o Prepare official College documents for processing such as purchase orders, travel reports, absence forms, facilities reservations and employee permissions.

o Opportunity to work weekends and evenings on occasion following advanced notification
o Serve on committees as appropriate and participate in campus events.
o Other duties as assigned.
