Data Analytics and Visualization Assistant
Full Job Description
The Research Informatics and Publishing at Penn State University Libraries is seeking a part-time data analyst assistant for the University Park campus. The successful applicant will support the data analytics and visualization service portfolio within the department. This position additionally provides an opportunity to learn advanced data analytics and visualization knowledge and skills.
Job duties include:
- Assisting with data analytics and visualization consultations
- Conducting workshops
- Creating LibGuides (an easy-to-use content management system used in libraries to curate knowledge and share information, organize the class and subject-specific resources, and to create and manage websites.) or other educational materials
- Related activities as assigned that support the university research community
Preference will be given to those who have general knowledge and skills in data analytics and visualization tools (for example, Power BI and Tableau) as well as the ability to learn new skills both independently and through instruction quickly; and who possess sufficient written and verbal communication skills. A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work well within a team are required. Hours and wages for these positions will vary and will not exceed 20 hours per workweek. This position can be fully remote and is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
