Overview

IXL Learning is looking for a freelance content creator for Sugarcane (www.sugarcane.com), our free site for creating your own educational games. In this role, you will be responsible for creating data sets in subject areas of your interest, along the lines of these examples: Sovereign States, Types of Cheese and Rooms of the House in Chinese.

We are looking for people who can contribute fun and engaging content in either an academic subject or an interesting trivia topic. Potential subject areas include, but are not limited to, Spanish, French, history, music theory, geography, biology, chemistry, physics, math, Chinese, astronomy, and literature. Examples of trivia topics we would consider include dog breeds, heraldry, aviation, classical music, trains, wines, food, etc.

This is a remote, part-time, contract position with a pay rate of $20/hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Create high quality, comprehensive data sets in your chosen subject areas

– Use images in your data sets where appropriate

– Edit your own work to ensure it is free from factual, spelling, and grammatical errors

QUALIFICATIONS

– Passion for learning and sharing knowledge

– Familiarity with an academic subject or specialized knowledge of an interesting trivia topic

– Ability to work independently

– Comfortable using computer technology
