Codecademy is looking for a knowledgeable programmer or instructor to help write our newest course, Learn p5.js, which will teach learners the JavaScript libraryp5.js. The Catalog Content Contributor works directly with the Codecademy Curriculum team to author interactive lessons, quizzes, and projects to help turn a high-level syllabus into reality. This is a paid, remote, part-time position.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Apply educational techniques and philosophies to design and author interactive lessons, quizzes, and projects.
  • Think pedagogically to break down technical concepts into digestible exercises.
  • Collaborate with Codecademy’s Curriculum team to craft learning outcomes and build a compelling learner experience.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Fluency with and experience with the JavaScript framework p5.js
  • Experience with both software engineering and formal or informal teaching
  • Experience with developer tools such as Git, GitHub and the command line
  • A strong command of the English language

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT

  • Experience using p5.js in an educational or creative environment
  • Experience with front-end web development using JavaScript
  • Experience using the Codecademy platform
  • Experience with writing educational content that reaches a wide audience in a digital format

This is a part-time, remote position. You can expect anywhere from ~10-30 hours of work per week, including weekends. You can work from anywhere with an internet connection, and will be compensated (paid) bi-weekly.
