The Communications function at Northrop Grumman’s historic Space Park campus in Redondo Beach, CA is looking for someone to help keep us organized. If you’re an experienced operations & administrative pro who enjoys working with teammates who are creative, fun and nerdy in all the best ways, we’d love to add you to our roster. You’ll serve as our Operations & Administrative Lead supporting the Director of Communications and other areas within the Communications function. This position is responsible for both functional operations & administrative tasks, including: Functional Operations:

  • Gathering inputs for and producing weekly/monthly leadership reports
  • Working with finance business partners to track and manage functional budgets
  • Managing all procurement activity through the PO, iBuy and Purchasing Card processes
  • Responsible for all vendor invoice management, processing and payments through the ADR and PO systems
  • Working with human resources business partners to track and manage training and development deadlines for all functional team members
  • Maintaining and tracking deadlines for all major projects and deliverables
  • Developing relationships with our counterparts in similar teams both locally and across the company to streamline our processes and be a partner in supporting and executing projects and campaigns


  • Arranging and expensing travel
  • Expensing other operational purchases
  • Managing calendars, appointments and team meetings
  • Coordinating meeting support for conference rooms, guests, and catering
  • Collaborating effectively with other administrative staff
  • Supporting additional team members

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 years of as an executive-level operations lead/administrative assistant; or a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of as an executive-level operations lead/administrative assistant
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong Interpersonal effectiveness and relationship building skills
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Experience with:
    • Budget management, monitoring and reporting
    • Meeting and event coordination
    • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype)
    • Zoom and WebEx video conferencing software
    • Managing e-mails, calendars, and schedules
    • Travel planning and expense reporting
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
  • Although infrequent, domestic and international travel may be required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance
